Dr. Bruce Povah MD, FRCSC
Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery

Dr Povah graduated from the University of Manitoba Class of 1975. He did general practice with an emphasis on emergency medicine and critical care in Brandon Manitoba. He completed a residency in Otolaryngology in 1984 followed by a fellowship in allergy and immunology. He received fellowships from the Canadian College of Physicians and Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He practiced in Brandon  Manitoba until he had the good fortune to join Dr Kramer in Kelowna where he has practiced since 1993. Together Drs Kramer and Povah have expanded their service to the community by recruiting four additional Otolaryngologists with varying interests and skills to Kelowna.

He brings considerable experience in all aspects of Otolaryngology. He has a passion for trying to improve the delivery of health care and has been heavily involved with Kelowna General Hospital. He has served as Chief of Surgery, Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee, president of the Medical Staff, acting Chief of Staff, and currently is the Site Medical Director of KGH.

He is still active in Otolaryngology for consultations but only does urgent and emergency surgery referring elective surgery to his colleagues.
