Insurance Coverage

  • If you have been referred to an otolaryngologist for a medical problem, your visit will most likely be covered under your provincial health insurance plan (except Quebec). If it isn’t, our office will notify you in advance of any cost associated with your upcoming appointment. Make sure to present your health insurance card for your visit, especially if your coverage is from another province, to avoid any unexpected fees.
  • If you are seeing a surgeon for a service that is not covered under your provincial health care plan (such as a cosmetic procedure), there will be fees for your visit. You will be notified of any cost associated with your appointment prior to being seen.
  • Third Party insurance coverage such as Blue Cross and Manulife is not necessary for your appointment.
  • You may choose to pay for your appointment on your own. If it is for a medical reason that is generally covered under medical services plan, you will not be moved to the front of the line. We do not offer two-tier healthcare.
  • If you are not a resident of Canada and have a unique healthcare insurance plan, make sure to let our office know in advance and we will work with you to make the process as seamless as possible.

  • Records requests, work notes and forms are not services covered under Medical Services Plan. There may be a fee associated with this service.
